Interview Questions for Authors (answer up to 5 of the questions):
- For those of us who aren’t familiar with your background, please tell us how you came to write novels and what you went through to get published. Please be as lengthy as you wish.
- When did you know that you wanted to become an author? How did that come about?
- I really like your title. Do you pick your titles first, then write the stories? Please explain.
- Describe this book for us and tell us about why you wrote it.Tell us something about the story that we can’t read on the cover.
- What makes this novel different from others in it’s genre?
- Is any of this story autobiographical? Were any scenes from the book inspired from what you know, or it is through your imagination?
- Who is your audience for ? Who do you think will understand and gain insight through reading your book?
- In your opinion, what is the absolute best thing about being a writer?
- As a new author, what would you say was your most difficult challenge in completing your novel?
- As a writer, what are some of the most important things you try to get across through your books?
- What was the last book you read?
- Are you nervous about any aspects of your book’s release (such as reviews, meeting fans, talking in front of an audience)?
- What kinds of research did you did, particularly in terms of setting, since your book takes place in multiple locations.
- What are your literary plans? Where will your book tour take you?
- How are you marketing and promoting your new title?
- Thus far, what is one of the greatest things you love about being a writer?
- What type of feedback have you received so far about the novel?
- What is your definition of success?
- What are some tips for aspiring authors who are interested in breaking into the publishing industry? Please share some resources you recommend for new authors writing their first book.
